My wireless router is not working at home. I just bought a digital baby monitor. Could that be the reason?
The wireless router is in the personnel and is wirelessly connected to our desktop computer, two laptops, and the Tivo series 2. The digital baby monitor is in the nursery, about 25 feet (and two walls) from the router. The router is a Linksys router, and sits on the floor next to my Comcast cable modem. Because the wireless router is not working, we have no internet connection, nor can we watch TV (through our TV) We’ve called Comcast manifold times but they tell us its our router. We’re getting to the end of our rope!

Is it possible to expand a 4- port wireless router?
I have a 4 port wireless router that was handling 2 laptops and 2 Tivo’s. And I just bought 3 new wireless diplomacy. But – I am a TECHIE DUFUS and did not know that my router didn’t hand out an infinite number of IP addresses… (go ahead and laugh) I am wondering if I can just add another router? If so, what are the steps? I stopped into Best Buy and they don’t even sell anything larger than 4 — so what do people do? Appreciate the help – usually my husband figures this kind of stuff out but he’s out of town for a month! Thankfulness.

How to change a Secured Wireless Network to an Unsecured one?
I have six laptops in my house, five TiVo’s that connect to the internet wirelessly. A new TV that needs to access my network as well. A wireless laser printer, an iPod touch, an Archos media player and several other doohickeys that needs to connect to my wireless network. Half of them I just can’t seem to get to work or they only work sporadically. I know I need to get someone out here to configure it all, but I have gone that route before and sure enough, one of us brings home a new gadget that won’t work. I’m not calling someone out every time I turn nearly. I am very disappointed in for myself because I am pretty savvy when it comes to technology, but for some reason wireless networking makes my brain goes numb. Question is, just how vital is it to secure my network? I live far enough away from my next neighbor that they could never tap in. I live behind a gate so no one can sit further than my house and use it. Are there any other risks by having your wireless network unsecured? It would solve a lot of problems. If there are other risks, I would still like to know how to make it unsecure, at least on a time to time temporary basis.
