TIVO – Getting a software update…?

I took my Pioneer – TIVO unit, with its own DVD recorder/player to have it fixed. Pioneer installed a new hard drive with TIVO version 5.2!!! (TIVO is not up to version 9+).

Using Tivo (Series 2) with Time Warner Digital Cable?

I’m thinking of buying Tivo Sereies 2, but I have heard conflicting statements on whether it will work easily with my digital cable box from Time Warner (and with a wireless network, no phone line). Does anyone who has Time Warner (just to be sure b/c Comcast or Cablevision might be different!) have Tivo and does it work simple?
