Using Tivo (Series 2) with Time Warner Digital Cable?

I’m thinking of buying Tivo Sereies 2, but I have heard conflicting statements on whether it will work easily with my digital cable box from Time Warner (and with a wireless network, no phone line). Does anyone who has Time Warner (just to be sure b/c Comcast or Cablevision might be different!) have Tivo and does it work simple?

Help with Tivo Series 2?

I have recently bought 2 tivos at yardsales, etc… I finished up with 2 Series 2 tivos, a TiVo 80hr TCD24008A Standalone and a Samsung 35hr S4040R DirecTiVo. The power give from the TCD24008A was blown and it had no harddrive. So i removed the Power give from the Samsung DirecTivo and place it in the TCD24008A. Also the faceplate of the TCD2400 had no power button and vital a remote control that i don’t have. So i took the face plate/buttons from the DirecTivo and place it on the TCD2400. The power button works and i can power it without a remote but it never gets past the welcome screen cause it has no hard drive. The hard drive is what i need help with though. When i first got the DirecTivo and realized i couldn’t use it to record my cable, i took the 40gb harddrive out of it and place it in one of my computers. The TCD2400 didnt come with a harddrive. So i took the 40gb back out of my computer but cannot use it because it has windows xp on it. I need to format the harddrive and place all the Tivo records back on the 40gb so that i can use it in my TCD24008A which only needs a hard drive now.. But i need the operating system for the TCD24008A and not the DirecTivo. Thankfulness for your help.
